“In our pursuit of happiness and comfort, it came as a stark realisation to me how much we have taken for granted, the things that we have and how this complacency impacts the lives of others, albeit those we can’t see or are not aware of.

When I learned of the “Clean Thoughts, Clean Action, Clean Environment” mantra, I really saw it as my opportunity to change my life.

On a tour to Japan a few years back, I was casually picking up trash on the streets but was met with laughter and jest from my tour mates and even my family. They asked why I took notice of the trash and joked that I was taking away the jobs of the cleaners. At that point, it dawned on me that we are so used to creating trash and having others clean up after us, that it seemed like keeping clean is no longer our business. And this attitude extends to our thoughts, our actions, and our environment.

As citizens of the world, we all have a part to play. I want to play my part and am happy to contribute through Kindred.”
